A few weeks ago, a tiny little kitten crept his way into the Kitten Cottage and into our hearts. Jamie was a gorgeous, mostly black kitten (with white fur on his chin, chest and little white socks) who was dealt some serious health issues from day one.

Jamie showed incredible tenacity and we were initially very hopeful for his full recovery. As time went on, however, his fragile little body just wasn’t able to take the strain of the Leukaemia, which was hitting him forcefully, despite him being on extremely strong medication. Our hearts are extremely heavy that we were not able to save him in the end.

If you’ve been following Jamie’s story on our Facebook page, you’ll know he had a really tough time, and that it was a struggle trying to keep him alive. Kittens who suffer from diseases such as Leukaemia require intense, undivided attention and extremely expensive medication.

We want to thank those who were generous enough to make donations towards helping Jamie – every contribution made a difference, and we know that we truly gave that brave little kitten a fighting chance.

In memory of this gorgeous little guy, we’re setting up a fund in his name. Your contributions to the Jamie Fund will go towards keeping other little kittens like Jamie alive, ensuring that they get a fair chance to survive and find a loving home.

Some kittens just need a little extra love. We believe that together, we can make a huge difference for cases like these in the future.
